Abstract Submission

They must be a registered delegate at the time of submission of abstract to enable online submission.

Abstract can be submitted under 3 categories and 3 Types

Categories

  1. Students (undergraduate students and interns)
  2. Post Graduate Students and Faculties (attached to Colleges)
  3. Practitioners.( No attachment to Colleges)

Types

  1. Clinical
  2. Research
  3. Innovative
  • Only E-Submission is accepted.
  • Abstract shall be no longer than 250 words and has to be submitted online.
  • Abstract title must be less than 15 words and express the essence of the presentation.
  • Use capital letters for abstract title.
  • No tables, charts or graphics shall be included in the abstract.
  • The abstract should not have been submitted and accepted at another State, National or International scientific meeting.
  • The presenter has to specify the type of presentation in the prescribed format (for example:- clinical/research/innovative)
  • Last date of submission : to be finalized
  • Acceptance of the paper shall be sent one month in advance by the Scientific Committee Convener.

Presentation (PPT) Guidelines

  • The presenter should adhere to the time limit for presentation. All oral presentations will before a total duration of 10 minutes [ 8 min presentation + 2 min discussion ]
  • File format should be Powerpoint [.PPT]
  • Only Single screen multimedia projectors will be provided for presentation.
  • The official language of the meeting and all communication must be in English.
  • No commercial products endorsement will be permitted.
  • Authors and co authors shall be present at the time of presentation.
  • Certificates will be given only to the authors/co authors who are present during the presentation.
  • The full scientific programme along with synopsis of papers/lectures shall be given to the delegates at the time of registration.
  • Various categories of speakers shall be clearly informed before hand the hospitality and the facilities offered to them.
  • The dental surgeons invited as speakers should be IDA members and should be registered for the conference except foreign speakers and speakers from other faculties.

Students & Interns

One presentation may be authored by a maximum of 3 authors and all authors shall be registered delegates at the time of abstract submission.

Post Graduate Students and Faculties :

Each registered delegate can submit only one scientific abstract.

Clinical Research

The abstract should be formulated under the following headings:

Abstract Title :

(less than 15 words)

Aim or purpose :

In one brief sentence, provide the rational for the investigation and/or the question to be answered.

Materials and methods :

The experimental conditions should be reported briefly (i.e. age group, nature of the animals, sex, and approval from the Ethics Committee at the presenter’s institution). The clinical approach should be precise, and the period of time studied taken into account in the interpretation. The methods used should also be clearly indicated (i.e. image analysis, biochemical data, histological, immune histological or molecular probes used for the analysis of the data, statistical significance).

Results :

The results should be stated in a maximum of three sentences.

Conclusions :

This is any conclusion(s) that can be drawn from the presentation. This final statement is crucial because it supports the scientific value of the abstract.

All accepted abstracts will be published online in the Dental Journal of India.
